Hello all!

It's been quite sometime since I posted anything. I need your help. I was having my car serviced today. I was looking around the showroom and started talking to the sales person about a 2010 535xi. The car was loaded including the M-tech kit. The one thing that I noticed is that it's stance looked higher. Is that because it's an xi? Was I imagining this? if this is the case are there lowering options? I just don't want it to look like a 4x4 if I decide to swap out to 19" wheels...

Also it would be hard for me to give up my 128 wheels...I love the look of these. Do they make a 128's with offsets that will fit an xi? If I didn't lower it would it look ridiculous with a set of 19's on? Anyone please chime in! Thanks everyone...

first of all, yes, XI is higher than regular I model, but you can get lowering spring to lower your XI

XI's offset is different than I model as well,

Should you do it? Of course.
I'm an impulse buyer.

Yes, I think XI height is the same w/ regular RWD height w/o the Sport Pkg. SP on XI model does not include suspension ... since you have SP now you'll feel the difference ... at the moment the I'm using lowering kit is from H&R ... it's harder than SP or go w/ KW v3 at $2700 list price.

They have style 128 w/ XI offset http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=75353&hl=.

I'm close to pulling the trigger on this tomorrow. I may have 128 wheels along with a few other things for sale soon

On whether you should pull the trigger or not is entirely up to you, I can't really answer that truthfully. I mean hey, look what I'm driving now! lol, but regarding the xi's stance here are a couple of before and afters to give you an idea. This is with 19" Miro reps, not lowered vs. lowered (H&R springs only) I'm sure you've seen my pictures many times but I'll post them up so you can see side by side.

You should be able to tell the diff. but for those who can't middle 2 pics are before.

If I lived in RI I would do it, being that I live in SoCal an XI is about as useful as a snow blower. Here it wouldn't matter most Californians can't drive when it's damp, much less bad weather.

You can get by in the northeast with a RWD E60 and a set of dedicated snows. I would test drive a sport package RWD 535i and then test drive the Xi. See which ride you like better.

If you do get the Xi (which is a great car, I'm just a RWD fan), there are tons of members who have it and who have great modding/lowering ideas.

Take it out on some curves before you decide. In my experience, much more body roll with the xi...

Dude, do it. I have an xi for the cold weather, but this past winter, we kept the car inside and drove the SUVs. So I guess the xi was kinda pointless. Faster 0-60 though, but after that, RWD will catch up. But it looks really nice, especially with the M-sport package, it's a steal.
