My salesman said my 05 525i had a 3.0l. I kept saying are you sure and bought it thinking it was definately a 2.5 despite what he said. Then I got the spec sheet from the parts department and that confirmed it. You would think a BMW salesman would know what engine is in the car. He also didn't tell me about the heated steering wheel, power headrests, and various other little things .

You are doing your research a little backwards here... don't you think? Your 525 is not bad, but 185 hp for the weight of this car is a bit underpowered. My wife had a 325 for a few years and it was fun, but it certainly lacked in the power department.
That being said, based on your sig, you have some other, more highpowered options to drive when you wish. Enjoy the 525. It is a great all around car. Adequate power, above average handling, and great comfort.

The 2007 530i possesses a wonderfully smooth, refined engine. I leased mine, knowing that the 535i was around the corner (although the incentives were enormous too). No regrets. I think the 530i and the 330i are real gems.
