One issue that I have is that I want Carbon Black which here in Canada only comes with the M package which means no comfort seats and those dreaded run flats which I really do not want. I will see if I can find another acceptable color and opt for the premium package instead of the M pkg.
The last few months have been very boring over at the Benz Forum, these people just don't share the same passion for their cars and the board was so boring
with so very few posts.
Anyways, that's my update, let's see how things unfold in the next few days, Great to be back.

I went with both packages and then you get the comfort seats and the M Pkg. The M Pkg really sets the car apart from other 5ers. The one problem with M Pkg on an Xi is you don't get the Msport suspension. To me the car sits too high.

Does it look strange the way it is sitting? Will have to investigate further.
Dealer called me with a Carbon Black w/ M Sport/Premium Pkg and Nav Pkg, really was not looking for NAV, have it on the Benz and hardly use it, I prefer
my small Garmin when I need a Nav at least I don't get routed via Germany as is the case with the lousy Benz Navi. Their looking for $1150.00/mo b4 tax
on a 39 month lease. Was surprised that they lowered residuals to 45% on the 535. they offered me 1.5% on the lease rate and then hit me with the 45% residual, like giving with one hand and taking back with the other, times like this I wish I lived in the USA.

Good luck with the new car, but I think you are getting a bit hung up on the badging. I have driven the 545i (with Sports pkg and 6MT) many times and I own a 535 (with Sports pks and 6MT) and I would take the 535 over the 545 anyday. I definately do not think the 535 is a step down from the 545 in anyway except a lower badge number. I had an Audi S4 that had 340HP and 300TQ and I still prefer the performance of the 535 over the S4.
Again, good luck with your decision and it sounds like you got a great deal, but I guarantee you will be back in a BMW in 2-3 years (if not less).
