I have been writing all the way about the facelift occuring not before the fall next year.
I have been wrong, the facelifted E60 with all the new engines will be introduced next spring!

I understand the new turbo engines but what kind of facelift are we talking about? Will the E60 only be a 4 year model run??? 04,05,06,07? Seems strange. Are we just talking some minor tweaks?

Except for the availability of the twin turbo 535, it seems like the changes are pretty minor.
Can anyone tell me if there are more substantive changes that actually might be worth upgrading to?

No, he is referring to the mid-life facelift - like the 7 series' recent one.

Are they going to bump up power for 550? It is now trailing Lexus and MB by 20+ bhp. They also need to have at least some power gap between 535 and 550.
Quite possibly. I think there is an expected power increase to the 3L I6 as well.

However, based on a previous thread, they dyno tested a 335i and it seems that it is really putting out more like 350bhp and one U.S. magazine got 4.9 sec 0-60 (range of 4.9-5.1) so in a 535, I would assume about 5.3 given the extra weight, and probably sub-5.0 if you chip it. So in stock form, the 535 is the new 545!
I would assume that they may twin-turbo the 550i at some point - but when is a mystery. Anyone able to shed light on the 550's development?
