My Ride: 2007 530i Monaco Blue

<_<

I am a newbie, and have a question about HUD. I probably missed something really simple. I took delivery of a 2007 530i last Sat. My problem is I can only see mph on HUD. No navi etc. I enabled all the other functions via idrive but no luck. What am i doing wrong? The dealer could not help me over the phone and told me to bring the car back. I have read the manual cover-to-cover and several of the HUD threads on this site, but cannot figure this one out.

Btw This is a one of the best user forums on the planet!

If you have NAV you should get turn by turn directions on the HUD when you're using the NAV to guide you somewhere. The NAV won't display on the HUD otherwise.

The HUD will also give you cruise control information

Thanks. Yes, I have NAV. So the arrow directions does not show up on HUD if you are not using the NAV guidance ?

If you have Active Cruise, its info should show up as well.

The HUD is also excellent at displaying other information such as the flat tire monitor, disabling of DTC, fuel reserve, active steering failure :'( , freeze warning, passenger seat belt warning, etc. It's cool because as soon as your hear a chime it displays the information so you don't have to look down or away from the road to see what the warning is about. I thought this would be rather worthless but have found it to be pretty useful and convenient.

Is it possible to get normal HUD to displace gear and rev like the M5 ones ?

Any software mod ?

I would also like to see another "minor", but useful thing - show something to indicate the turn signal is blinking. Ever so often, I will click the turn signal a bit harder than I intended, and look down to see if I tripped the constant on or not. Would be nice to see it in the HUD.
