I did not order HUD for my 2007 550i. I am wondering if I made the wrong decision. For those who have it, how is it working out so far? Do you find it distracting while driving? This was why I did not order it. I would guess one would get use to it at some point. So I guess the question is ... it worth it?

I test drove a M5 with HUD and fell in love with it.. It wasn't distracting i thought it was really nice because the speed seems to hover in front of the car. So you'll never need to look down to see the speed. I had to order it on my 550

HUD really comes into its own with the nav. One of those options that you won't miss if you've never had it, but once you have, you'll miss it hugely when you don't. Big fan of HUD here - only downside is that on the non-M hud you don't get useful info like gear or rpm (or the one that really should be there, the turn signal.)

HUD is great. Never distracting and very useful. I now go nuts when driving other cars without a HUD -- I keep looking for the speed reading in the windshield of other cars...

I wouldn've gotten HUD if it showed rpms like the M5 version. To me, its not worth it unless it shows rpm, which is the most critical piece of info when I drive.

I think I made the right decision. I would have gotten use to it so I dont think that is the issue but the limited information provided like RPM, Gear etc... would have lessened the value. Thoughts anyone?

Navigation is 100% better with HUD and alone justifies the price for me. With an SMG I can see that RPM would be useful, and I can't understand why it isn't available as one of the viewable data points.

HUD is really amazing for Navigation (no more need to activate the voice) and permit to always know speed without searching it : My best option !!

HUD is OK, especially with NAV. The sad part is that it could be much, much more if the menu was more flexible.

If it had Revs it would be perfect, but as it is I still love it.

I wouldn't not buy a car cause it didn't have it, but I would definitely pay ?1000 more for a used car with it on if it was sat next to a car without it.

Can you still add it to your order? If you can then do so, you won't regret getting it, you will regret not getting it!
