Are you sure the shape is different. It looks as though the shape is the same but they have squeezed two buttons where the pre-LCI had only one.
If the shape is the same then you 'may' be able to use the LCI switch because these switches are nothing but CAN-ID generators. So anything that the CAN BUS cannot understand it will ignore.
Was NV ever an option on the pre-LCI is a good question?

Nightvision was incorporated into the E60 in April of 2006. I know because I had a european delivery set up for May 06 and BWM NA delayed my euro delivery pick up because they had delayed nightvision twice on the production line and didnt think it could be complete by the end of April 06 in time for my delivery in May. But it was and they shipped the car directly to my dealer in chicago and gave me the euro delivery invoice price anyway. So the nightvision option actually saved me money cause i didnt have to travel to Europe to get my car. I believe NV was in the 7 series before this.

We need a picture of an EU car with those features on a pre-LCI car.

Actually, Audi, VW, Volvo, and Mercedes all have rear fog lights. I had to ask 3 times when I got my car where it was. Aparently BMW never made rear fog lights for North America (according to my dealer).

Does anyone in the EU have halogens and NV and HU? Or is that combination not allowed by BMW because they couldn't figure out how to fit another 'knob' on that light switch.
