Hi all,

I am in the process of configuring a 535d Sport Touring, dealer says HUD won't be available for production until Wk 1 '05. I think this is the 4th time it has been delayed, it was due to be available from May '04
Any of you hearing differently? It is a nice thing to have but b/w the cost and the fact it might be delayed further, I am inclined to let it go...

HUD is available, at least on other E60's. Why should it be delayed with the 535d engine?
Makes no sense at all.

HUD is available with the 535d, but not on any right hand drive car. BMW have had trouble finding a company to make the windscreens for RHD cars.

It's true. I couldn't get it last summer and I still can't get it.
You'd say it wouldn't be that hard, as everthing is just mirrored.. I would love a good explantion of why they can't get that sorted.

Yep sadly conversion to RHD seems to be very tricky, I hope they will fix it sooner rather than later. Unfortunately too much trouble to wait for it as it might be delayed yet again
One should assume it should be fixed by the time the M5 is available in the UK since they come standard with HUD

Dealer confirmed the above, problem is with windscreen supplier which seems to be struggling to get appropriate coating on the right hand side, still says Wk 1 '05 for production....
