I just adjusted mine yesterday.
Try raising the image by adjusting it. There is 2 T10 torx screws holding the Idrive in. It will tip down and out.
Let it dangle and grab about 18 inches of extensions for a 13mm socket and wrench. Loosen it little over 180 degrees then use a 6mm for the tip of the threaded shaft.
About 90 degrees loosen (lefty loosey) should put it in the sweet spot. Loosen it more if it doesn't.

If I would have known the 6mm would get stuck on the shaft I would have used some silicone paste in the socket. I got it out with a long needle nose and some wiggling.

you are certainly correct but it seemed you implied that because of this specific angle they needed to polarize it and with a different angle they would not.

The thickness of the glass would give a double image in nearly any scenario I think.
