A couple of days ago I posted about the stuttering, rough performance of my '09 535i and many of you provided great feedback and bet your money on the HPFP. First of all, thanks!
So, taking your advice I called the dealer to make an appointment. I called BMW of Manhattan (despite many bad reviews, it was where I purchased the car) and it turns out it was a very good experience! Who knew? I decided to post to give them some credit.
Called on Tuesday morning. Brought the car in on Wednesday morning. Despite telling me that the mechanics wouldn't be able to look at it until Friday, got a call today (Thursday) letting me know the car was being worked on and the HPFP was being replaced and the door seals lubed. Picked up the car at 4:15pm this afternoon. Running fine.
Many thanks to FREDDY CHAN of BMW of Manhattan, my service advisor. Credit where credit is due. Let's hope I don't need anymore HPFP replacements.
For the heck of it, here's the description of work performed:
"Defective high pressure fuel pump interrogated fault memory and found FC 2FBF and 29CD stored in DME. Followed diagnostic steps outlined in SIB 12 55 06. Measured and verified correct low side fuel pressure at 5 BAR. Verified that low side held pressure for over 25 minutes with only .5 drop in residual fuel pressure. Low side fuel pressure system OK. Followed high pressure side fuel system test plan B1214_DI6KHDR. Test plan determined high pressure pump at fault - DIAGCODE: D1350_00000000_02_001. Replaced high pressure pump with new. Cleared adaptaion values and fault memory. Test drove OK after repairs."

Congrats on the fix. Now when you get a chance you can donate to the forum. ![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)

Sounds like a great idea. I've been using it as a resource ever since getting the car. I'll click on the donate tag and try to contribute!
