How to tighten LCI shifter
#1
Hey guys, I have a 2008 LCI automatic shifter that is becoming loose. I'm a newb and don't want to break anything. How do you remove the cover and screw the shifter tight? Thanks

Why dont you do what myself and a few others have done and change the shifter to the SAT (Sport Auto) one ?

Its alot better than the standard remote style, the SAT is also much more solid when shifting.

As far as I can recall (I did the switch to SAT also), the normal LCI shifter is a one piece unit with the entire shift box... not like the SAT where the handle is a separate part. If you're under warranty, why not just take it to the dealer -- they may just replace the entire box.

thanks guys. I never knew that the original shifter is a one piece unit. I thought you could pull it apart and just tighten the screws like other cars...I am still under warranty, so I'll take it to a local BMW dealer and get that thing replaced. The SAT shifter does look really nice though!
