How To Remove Rear Air Vent?

Question How To Remove Rear Air Vent?

Would someone please post instructions on how to remove the rear air vent? Thanks. 👍

I saw the vent removal done on Youtube recently.

They used a plastic pry tool all around the edges and popped it out.

At the time I was researching replacing the cigarette socket to accommodate a USB charger and needed to get behind the vent.

It just pops out.

I scoured YouTube well before posting this. All I could find was a video to replace the rear cig lighter panel and that was for an X5 though.

Every instruction you will find on newtis.info. But just use a pry tool. If I remember correctly you have to start with the wood panel. It overlaps a little bit the air vent part. Look at ebay pictures for the clip position.

@Giubo So you just pry outward from the top and bottom clip positions not the sides at all?

Using your pictures as a guide, you can see where the tabs are located around the vent.

Easier way...
  1. Use a plastic panel removal tool to remove cig lighter panel
  2. Remove two metal clips holding vent in place
  3. Remove vent
