Default How to remove LCI automatic sport shifter?

I need to replace my shifter since the ribbon cable that connects it to the ECU has been damaged. I know how to get the leather boot pulled up and the plastic trim around it removed, but I don't know how to actually take out the shift knob. Does anyone know how to do this?

Here's what it looks like:

Disconnect the two ribbon cables first and then pull the shift knob straight up. It is on there pretty tight and wiggling helps. Make sure that when the knob finally comes off you don't hit the roof with it.
