It really does depend a lot on the state you live in and your age. I'm 44, white male which is good for low rates, but I'm in Michigan and our no fault insurance is expensive. Also over $150 on every policy goes directly to the state for some kind of catastrophic fund, on top of what goes to the insurance company. I think mine is close to $900/6 months, 2 cars, 100/300/100, $500 deductible, no towing. It really went up when I got rid of the old VW and got the Bimmer. It's mostly the collision that went up; these cars cost a lot to repair. But like I say, $150 of that doesn't even go to the insurance company, and if your state doesn't do the no fault scam how can you even compare the rates?

£700 per year for comprehensive insurance (covers both parties), £500 excess deducted from any claim payout. Uk insurance recently shot up 40% so i am dreading next years when it runs out in June, also I have a 50/50 blame for my accident last April and i am 38 with 11 years no claims discount.
