I haven't washed the car or even cleaned the rims in probably over a month now. Man I must be getting lazy... I blame the weather though... it's just getting too cold to go out and do it. What do you guys do in the winter? I'll never ever go through a car wash... ever!

Winter...what's that?

I go to a hand car wash--they do a great job.

With silver gray, I only wash it when the rims get really grimy - once every 2-3 weeks. The black interior is also very low maintenance.

I hand wash it myself as I fear most automatic washes may scuff up the 18" sport pack rims. :'( Does anyone know whether it is safe to go to an auto wash?

Silver Gray and wash every Friday night (or early Sat morning).? Only missed once in 8 months.? If SG looks good dirty, it looks even better clean and shiny.?

Interestingly, mine does look shinny despite the lack of washings. But, I should have said that I at least wash/wax when it doesn't shine. But, you probably knew that you old sea dog you.

For winter, I move my car out of the garage for its daily clean-ups, etc. I will go through a touchless car was on ocassion, taking drying materials with me, but that's it.

It is not good unless the auto is touchless--which, of course, will not do as good a job as touch. You might not see the damage of a touch auto on a light colored car. Taking black, or another very dark color, through a touch auto would be very not good IMO. You can't even look twice at a black car in the same spot without scratching it. I would not want anything but water touching my rims in a car wash. I think they would be scruffed/scratched if touched in a touch auto.
