And I see easily 2 out of 10 on average are sport package. This is mainly Chicago downtown, north side and the suburbs.

How bout you?

Every E60 here seems to be non sports.

I see more non-sports here in NYC than I see sports (by a considerable margin). I would never chose a non-sport over a sport but, given the potholes here, I can see why some might prefer higher-profile tires and a softer suspension.

Non-sports tend to be cheaper, and like everything in most big cities, you tend to see cheaper versions of most cars out there, whether it's a BMW or a Camry.

I very rarely see Sport 5's here as well. Plus, up north most dealerships don't order sport models, esp. since most 5's are xi's up here, and they figure that most don't want Summer tires or staggered setup. They usu order the more practical non-sports as a result.

Hmmm, for me it's totally opposite.
1 or 2 out of 10 5ers are non sport.

I see so many E60s I'd probably crash if I tried looking at them all to see if they're Sport or not (plus I don't know what to look for )

the easiest way to tell if it's a sport pkg (imo) is by the black trim around the windows. non-sport bmw have the chrome trim.

but as we all noticed, alot of owners are adding shadowline trim to give the appearance of a sports pkg so who knows anymore...

Oh that's no way of spotting sport package here then. It seems to be 50/50 shadowline/chrome as over here we get the full options list rather than things grouped together as packages, so someone without any sport items (like mine) can have shadowline.

Non-sport FTW !!! I wouldn't trade my standard suspension, comfort seats and 18" rims for M-tech suspension, sports seats and 20" rims even if they came free
