Just wanted to get a consensus of the forum members as my 2008 528i Sport Pkg with 97,000 nears the end of it's CPO extended warranty. Was actually hoping it would go before I hit 100,000. Its really the only item besides the alternator that has not been addressed out of all the common items.
Knock on wood, aside from some comfort access issues occasionally the car has been extremely reliable. From when the car was put into service at the end of 2007 until I bought it last summer it did not have any warranty work performed. Hard to believe. (Have the full service history). Me and a friend put in new upper and lower control arms couple of weeks ago. No more clunking from the font end any more.

Mine went at 85000. I hear this is the range that they seem to commonly fail.

Changed mine as preventive maintenance at 87K (original). Alternator was failing and once everything was pulled apart to get the alternator changed the water pump/thermostat was a quick half-hour addition to the job.
