Not sure why, but in US, people tend to consider a car over 60 000 miles already "worn out". I don't see how miles relate to the condition of a car - you can make 60 000 miles in a year when driving long distances, while the car is actually still as new. I have seen an unbiased video-test somewhere of a BMW engine running 1,000,000 kilometer (620K miles) without stop (only for changing filters and oil). Guess what, after disassembling, the measurements showed the engine parts are still within factory specs. Basically no wear.

That was a test done by MOBILE back in the 90's with a 325, you are correct
