My Ride: 2005 E60 (218ps) 530d SE manual, visibility pack, luxury pack, Double Spoke Style 135 wheels, Goodyear NCT5 RF tyres, 6CD changer, standard UK audio, titanium silver
530d Manual E60
Had it for less than a month, but here are some figures that I get
obc av speed 72mph obc 35mpg, actual 37mpg
obc av speed 58mph obc 37mpg, actual 41mpg
obc av speed 23mph obc 23mpg, actual not sure, can't find petrol receipt for this fill
When I was test driving a 2006 E90 325iA touring
obc av speed 41mph obc 17mpg
that put me off the petrol powered cars ..... the test drive did only last 15 miles though.

My Ride: 525d MSport, Carbon Black, Black Dakota Leather, Bluetooth, Xenons.
I've got an 55 plate 525d MSport, I used to get 38/39 on motorway runs at around 80 MPH, and the av used to sit around 28. Since having a DMS remap that figure has jumped to 44 on the same M/way runs and the av is 32/34. For sure the E60 is not as economical as the old E39, my E39 showed an av figure of 44 over 20k miles.

My Ride: All on order and should be here by 28th September 2007
I started reading this thread on Friday and with a trip to Lincolnshire that evening I decided to reset my trip computer and find out my mpg.
The trip was a mixture of Motorway and fast A roads and when not in traffic was driving between 70 and 80.
The next day we travelled to a kids theme park and the trip computer (after a reset) showed 55mpg and a total range of 802 miles (trip miles added to remaining range). Unfortunately I left my phone at the house so no picture proof.

Hello all,
First post, I got my 55 plate 535 d M Sport on Monday. I've only been driving around town but not in heavy traffic (I head for work at 6am) and I get about 22mpg. I've just been on a 30 mile run along the A449 with a couple of traffic lights and I was driving Miss Daisy, very light on the throttle and it just about got 28mpg.
Any thoughts??
Cheers
Phil
P.S Off for a run down to Minhead tomorrow so I'll keep y'all posted.

Only had the cars under 6 months and im not getting great combined milage and compained to BMW who checked everything HMMMM and also there Tester took it overnight and got AVG speed of 35mph and 33.5 mpg which I still think is low for a 2005 525D M sport with only 25,000 miles on the clock.
With a full Tank it came up with 450 miles for ?70 Diesel AVG speed is 28MPH and 29MPG
In town. A roads with constant start stops it gets about 23MPG they say the book figure is 26.6 even though book specs are 30.6
On motorway crussing at 70mph I have got 38MPG on a 120 mile journey even though book says 53.3

2) Auto or Manual?
3) The 2005 was the 2.5l engine and wasn't the most efficient, the 530d was actually better!
4) You'll never get the official figures, they are done in a controlled environment
5) Is you AirCon on?
6) Checked tyre pressures? (Which wheels have you got?)

Hello all,
Right did a 300 mile round trip today, Kingswinford (West Mids) to Minehead using the motorway. I kept mainly to speed limits going to around 80mph on the motorway (That could be a typo mr policeman) and I averaged 36mpg for the entire journey. What do y'all reckon to that?
Cheers
Phil
P.S Just got rid of an E39 528 manual and this 535d M Sport blows it to the dust in practically every way

My Ride: 535D Sport Auto
I didn't reset my computer for the first two years of ownership and the average consumption stayed at 28mpg. This level of consumption impresses me as I like to put my foot down where I can. I would expect a 525d to be around 35mpg if driven the same.
