No mention of General UHP for 19"?
Can you get that in Europe? It's one of the cheapest 19" in the states and it has performed pretty well, do a search and many people will agree. It's ~$600 USD on tirerack.com and one of the best rating high performance tires. I have them myself and they are very stable and quiet. Treadwear wise, I have 22k miles and the rear seems to be gone, the front still have some meat left. Others seem to have better treadwear than me, but then I bought my set used so my 22k is based on the guy telling me how many miles was on.
In a nutshell, not as top performance as Michelin PS2, but less than half the price, better treadwear, and probably 80-90% as good.

I bought a brand new 535d sport with the 19's and got 11k out of them, at the same time my brother bought a brand new 530d sport with the 19s to and he had to change them at the same time however his millage was 18k.
I do all town driving and he does a lot of motorway driving, i also prefer usinging the right foot.

I have the Brigstone POTENZA A960 Tires on 166's..... They are one of the only tires in that class with a 400 tread wear rating. I have 10K miles on them and they are in good shape.....I think I will get about 25k out of the front wheels and 30K + out of the rear tires.....Rotation is not an option because of the staggered setup! Good luck!

I got 30,000 on mine. I used the Toyo T1S, which is no longer available. Now I use the Toyo T1R. I have to say the Toyo T1R is probably one of the best when you combine price and performance. Almost or if not just as good as the PS2 but a hell lot cheaper!

How do you find the T1R for tyre squeal? I also drive a Mitsubishi Evo which has T1R's on it and they squeal like a pig under hard cornering, makes everyone think I'm driving like a complete nutter (when in fact I am but it doesn't really warrant such noise???). Different car I know, but just wondered if you had the same experience with the same rubber on the 5 series? Previous tyres to those on the Evo were Toyo R888 which were absolutely awesome, the grip was unbelievable, but not good in standing water at 35mph+, oh and they only lasted about 8000 miles!!!! Previous tyres to that were Goodyear Eagle F1's which are very similar to the Toyo T1R's without the squeal.
I'm still on the original Conti's on my 535d, only done 4000 miles since new so far!

Yeah I was very surprised that they lasted that long. I do agree that the Toyos do squeal a bit when you drive the car hard, which you don't really notice until you roll down the windows. The Toyo T1S was really good in the rain too. Especially being in New England where it rains a lot and you could go 100+ mph without any problems. Not sure how the T1R are in wet conditions now that I'm living in California and we don't really get rain here. But from what I've heard is that the T1R and T1S are pretty much the same. The tread pattern on the Toyo T1R and T1S definitely look cool and stand out though.

I guess that's true, the Evo certainly isn't as secluded in the cabin as the 5er! ![Smile](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/smile.gif)
The T1S / T1R are almost the same, the main difference is that the T1R has a stiffer sidewall. And yes they do look good. I've always considered the T1R type of tyre (heavy V pattern tread) to be focused towards wet conditions, if it's always sunny there, wouldn't you be better looking for a tyre that offers better dry performance? Just a thought.
I've used the R888 from Toyo before and they are awesome but unfortunately very expensive and with a tread wear of 100, they last next to no time at all. On the 5er I think they'll last even less time too due to the extra weight, so they're probably not a good choice. Don't think they come in 19" either, and no idea what they are like for road noise, that was never a consideration in the Evo.

Well I use 30/275 rear and 35/245 fronts and when I checked the prices for other tires, they were almost $100 more each! I liked the T1S so might as well try the T1R and so far its been good in dry too.
