Mr.Slim.With the adaptive headlights, you can easily tell when you're parked (and with your headlights on) and as your steering left and right, you'll notice the headlights' reflection on the wall or the road -- follow as you turn.
If I remember correctly, the active steering was part of the 2004 545i sports package. Do you know if you have the sports package (shadow line trime, style 124 wheels etc.)?

not everyone has active steering, you will know if you have active steering if you notice that your steering ratios change.
Adaptive headlights put your car in drive and turn the steering wheel and notice if your headlights turn with the steering or not, if they do then you have adaptive headlights.
