To maximize performance of the steptronic, this works the best. Turn off dtc, turn off dts, and use sport mode. It also gets rid of the hesitation with kickdown mode.

I don't feel any hesitation in DS, although there are some in D mode.

Right, turning both off should get rid of the loss of powers these nannies induce. And, you might be interested in this thread.

In D/S mode, try turning off both dtc and dsc. The car is even faster. It is a beautiful thing. It flies when you floor it.

Znod: Thank you for your insights and testing. I have been trying out your ideas over the last two days. What fun. Unfortunately my rear tires will get less mileage and currently front wheels are almost black with brake dust. Thanks.

I have been driving without DTC / DSC a bit over the last few days following advice in an earlier post by znod (I think).

It does feel a lot more natural as the DSC kicks in ALL the time when driving with it on. Without it, I actually get a lot less wheelspin than I thought I would, as having the control makes you more aware of the way you are driving. Cornering is also better with a more progressive movement toward the grip limits as opposed to a sudden snatch when the DSC acts if it thinks you are being naughty.

Only takes a few seconds to turn off as well.

I think I'll leave it on in the wet though.

You are very welcome pharding. My rear's have a tad of extra wear too--even though I try for minimal wheelspin with both controls off.

I'm not - but it isn't that scary really You just need to think about what you are doing.

Turning both off is no problem for me me for straight-line purposes and for relatively slow in-city driving, but, yes, if I were playing in curves, in wet weather, or on a high-speed road, then I would not turn either off.
