In Germany all Shell stations have it, and they just came out with V-Power Diesel.
Aral, another big gas station chain in Germany, followed Shell and offers Ultimate 100 (100 octane) and Ultimate Diesel, but they've just started it and it's not available on every Aral station yet, but soon. Soon the other gas stations will follow.

jtxc: That lightness you felt in the front end was reported exactly the same way you described it in one of the magazine reviews of, I think, the 530. I think the author reported it at about 140 mph. I think it's inherent in the car and certainly no reason to not feel as safe as I used to in my mother's arms. That's the way this auto feels to me. I wonder how "mom" is feeling out in the parking lot right now!!

Shell is just rolling out the V Power gasoline here in the U.S., though, at least at my station, it is only 98 Octane I believe. We have had it for some time here in New Orleans as we were a "test" market. I believe the nationwide rollout is happening as we speak.

My mom was (is) more the "go play in the street" type (love her much but a real go out and see the world type). I guess that's how the car felt, a little un - civilized at top end.
I had a 1988 mustang LX 5.0 I bought new when I was 17. I think it had a top speed of 128ish, now that was one scary hell ride for sure.
I have no desire to go top end in this ride again, I did it once just so I could say I did it
Rock solid at 130 is plenty enough, and once in a blue moon at that.
I'm curious what they did to iceman's car, what was the procedure?

The V-Power is according to Shell giving the car more power, higher mpg and less sediments in the engine. The engines run smoother.

Experts don't believe in it and test have shown it's just measureable. But... hey, it's not harming your engine !!!
It can be better for the engine, or (worst case) it's not doing anything else than the any other fuel.
But for a high power engine I prefer using it - you never know...

I don't think the 100 octane will hurt the engine, specs call for a 91 Minimum, but no limit on the top end. And I doubt that, in a country that loves their cars like the Germans do, they would be selling anything that is harmful to engines. The bigger question is really whether the extra 9 octane are really needed, or worth the extra money it costs to refine.
As for the speed, I'm with jtxc, the ocassional flirtation w/ 100 mph is more than enough for me!
