Just trying to get a feel if my car is in line with everyone else. I have a 2005 545i and I get a bout 300 miles to a tank of gas. I mostly do high way driving all week. Is this low, high, just right? If its low what can I do to increase it?

I get at least 500km on a full tank in my 2004 545i. This is made up of at least 50% city driving and at most 50% highway driving. Of course, your driving habits can have a huge impact on your fuel consumption. I don't drive my car hard at all...unless I've got a friend in the passenger seat and feel the need to show off...

I'm about the same as you on my normal routes about 300 miles per tank. But if I do long driving on the highway, I get about 415 miles to the tank. averageing about 25-26mpg.

About 40 highway and 60 city I got between 430-490km... If I travel on 100% hightway I got about 690-700 km if you keep the 100 kph. / 55 mph.
If I drive as a racer or jerky you got about 300 km.
Yes, it depends of your driving.....

The concensus here is "It varies greatly depending on your driving habbits" I usually get around 330~360 miles on a tank with mixed city and hwy driving and A/C on most of the time. I was able to extend that to about 430 miles once by going easy on the pedal and generaly keeping it under 3000 RPM.
Doing all Hwy, I can easily get 470~540 miles by cruizing 90~110Mph (on the way to Vegas).

The reason I even ask is because when I fill up the tank it says 460 miles left on the computer and I only get about 300 to a tank. So my feeling was that 160 miles is a lot off. I used to have a 740 and the computer seemed to be a lot more accurate as far as how far I could drive. It wasn't dead on, but it wasn't 160 miles off either
