Define doing something wrong?

You know that if you press the DTC button for 3 seconds DSC is inactive right? It says on the iDrive screen.
no no, i know. i guess if you are just turning DSC off and mashing the pedal it should do its thing. i just dont know why you arent spinning your tires in first gear on dry pavement. you might have better tires then me or the torque curve might not be as harsh on a 545.... no clue.

I too have the SH1TTY runflats. I was actually amazed that, even with DSC off, I couldn't break my tires loose when I tried it the other day. The RF have like 0 wet traction so in the rain, it don't take much for them to start spinning. With the summer heat though, the tires get so damn soft that they grip the hell out of the pavement. I couldn't even break the tires loose with a break start! I could see black rubber marks on the pavement so it looked like they were really wanting to break loose.

When the roads aren't hot then I can get the tires spinning no problem.

if i power brake, i can cook my back tires. i had a buddy from highschool visiting last month who is also a car guy. we were on an empty road near an industrial park on a weekend. i was complaining about the one wheel peel. i stopped the car turned DSC off and power braked it, cooked the tires through second gear leaving about 150 feet of dual tread marks behind me. unfortunately the treadmarks looked like dollar signs to me considering the price of RFTs. i have also managed to get my car completely sideways out of a u-turn and hold it through second gear.

Nice! Roads are too crowded around here to try any u-turn extraveganzas

Plenty of empty parking lots to have some fun though

This guy's 535i with a Dinan setup chirped his with a steptronic trans on video @ 1:00
So I was just curious.. I guess only way to do it is by adding more beef into the power and torque.

DSC off, DS on, stand on the brakes, and rev up to about 2K, then release the brake and smash it.
You'll shirp the tires, but not more than that.
