My Ride: 2008 535i: June 6th start build, complete June 17th, at NY Port July 5th, at dealer July 10th, took delivery Friday July 13- Plantimum Bronze/Natural Brown Leather/Light Poplar, Sport Package, Sport Auto, Active Steering, Premium Package, CWP & PDC. Dinan Performance Software 384hp & 421 ft/lbs.
The car is great! Active steering and Active roll bar makes the car feel much smaller and lighter. The swivel headlights are noticable. I-Drive is intuitive and lets you select the car features like key memory, chirp/flash on lock/unlock, etc. that you had to go to the dealer for before. The car feels fast but I'm watching the break in rules. The SMG is great, totally in character with the sport package. Up shifts are very sporty and quick (can't wait for redline shifts) and down shifts are the same. The steering wheel is nicely thick and the shift toggles are easy to access. SMG in auto mode is very sporty also, just automatic. In auto it starts in 2nd, push the sport button and it starts in 1st. If you want the smoothness of a steptronic, ease of the accelerator on shifts and your passengers would not know the difference. I'm extremely happy with the car.

Great car. How is the SMG. I sat in one and loved the steering wheel. Nice and fat. Thats my only gripe with my car is that the steering wheel is not fat like on the SMG models and M3
