How do you find out when i-Drive updates become available?

Well, BMW periodically updates the software and you will need to call the service department about it.
However, I don't think the service departments will update the software unless there's a problem.
Even if you are willing to pay, a lot of dealers don't want to deal with updating the software somehow....
