So it always starts on M2, on easy days I'll shift it at 2000rpms, when I rip it, 3000 to 3500rpms and usually all the way to M6, when slowing down I just let the computer shift to lower gears for me, just wondering from the veterans on here if I'm doing anything wrong...annnd...

Do you start on M1 or just leave it on M2?

What rpm is ideal to shift at?

Is it ok to take it all the way to M6 and just cruise?

Is it ok to let the computer shift to lower gears?

Is it ok to shift to lower gears while still stepping on the pedal for instance taking a turn ending up going slower than current gear?

Last one, how do I beat my sister's POS 2002 Corolla off the line so I don't get embarrassed...again...

Thanks for your time

Newb of the year;

John

how you did u lose?!?!?! if u start in M1 and turn off DCT/DSC you will easily take off. i use tip tronic to drive 99% of the time. i prefer not to downshift because its not rev matching but besides that i just have fun shifting whenever i want to

Dude, if you have less than three pedals, just leave it in automatic mode and stay in the right lane. Seriously

Hahaha. Shouldn't floor it till the car is around 25-30 for best performance. Helps the car not to over rev.

Sport botton does the trick for me 85% of the time. Gotta be another bimma, Audi or a fast 'looking' car to get sport & shifting. Lol
