Probably because other people will notice it and think it's weird since they don't know it's supposed to be like that? I didn't know the reason why, hell, I didn't even notice it on my car. When I turn the lights on against the white garage wall, it didn't look off. What I did notice just yesterday, though, was that some light goes on in front when I shift into reverse, and then off when I'm back in drive.
I also haven't noticed anything odd. Maybe just because I haven't looked at them from the front enough (I'm normally the one in the car). I also didn't notice anything odd against the garage wall. Maybe if I had a level horizontal line on the wall I'd see it. I doubt anyone's noticing what the OP referred to.

Headlights can and should be adjusted if anything was done to a suspension. both left and right have a certain pitch up from about the middle of the beam but left sides of left and right beam should be level and be on the same height. I can send a picture to anyone interested from TIS of how it should be when I get home. I did adjust my headlights even though they were auto-leveling because they were lighting like 30 feet ahead and that's it

This is a matter that I'm reflecting also.

Now when I got the lowered chassis, how do the Xenons auto-adjust "think" now?

They don't "auto" adjust....you have to do it yourself.

See my previous post as for the physical "how" of it, but the actual leveling...that's not as easy.

You should have marked a spot on the wall of your garage or wherever, before you lowered the car....so you could have adjusted them back to that spot. The DIY's on doing it correctly are not so simple, but there are plenty of them online if you can find a level area and a wall.

My best advice is to find someone else with an E60 and use those light beams on a wall, as a starting point to mark where your lights need to go.

As far as I remember from the TIS drop should be 10% of the horizontal part on the headlight beam. What I did is measured height to the center of the headlight, parked car as far as possible from the wall (they do it on the distance of 10m on the dealerships) then calculated height of the where horizontal part of the light should end and used screwdriver to correct. There are two level sensors on the left front control arm and right rear control arm (or vice versa) and I would assume this is how level is being determined.

No need to "remember" anything, just take a look here:
