How do I unlock the rear doors without key remote?

I hate my first question on the forum to be so dumb, but I just bought my first BMW, a 2008 535i. I dont see a button on the driver's door to unlock the rear doors.

Can this only be done with the key remote?

Sorry, and thanks in advance.

Hey and welcome to the community!

When you unlock the car it unlocks all doors, unless you have the child safety featured enabled. I had this when I first got my car. I needed to open both rear doors and find a little switch on the inside of the door to disable the feature. Might be what you are looking for.

er. Just re-read what you said. The "unlock" button is located in the middle of your dashboard and not on the door. Its near the "warning" light indicator.

Unbelieveable. I thought that was to unlock the windows.

Promise I'll come stronger with my next inquiry/comment.

Thanks.

I can totally understand why you thought that.

That button you speak of took me a whole week to figure out after I got my car too. Lol.

I had the same issue when I first tested a BMW. I was looking everywhere for it. lol
It's usually on the door.

Yup - reading about how to use (and remember) all the features notated in the Owner's Manual is like trying to memorize the Old Testament.

That's why I use the on-line one I downloaded from this forum - it's easier to search!
