honestly i didnt even pay attention to the name. i just respond to the posts. you could call me a dumbass in one post, and be nice the next post, and ill assume you are a totally different person. but thanks none the less. i was leary about buying this car because it didnt have a manual or spare key. so now i have to get a second key, print the manual and ask and search about a billion topics like putting video on my idrive screen, transmission questions and possibilities, body parts compatibiliy, and alot more. ill search as much as possible. thanks.
dont worry about the video on the idrive screen. impossible... dont hesitate to ask at least semi-informed questions. and if they arent semi informed, prepare to catch heat, but you will get what you need eventually

You mean i wont even be able to put video on screen with a module from nav video, nav tv, or nav tools? i heard even if i dont have the nav option, its just a plug and play sort of deal. oh well. it it dont work ill send it back.
as far as the other stuff goes, i need M5 fenders because i have Axis penta 20" wheels and the owner before me put an eibach lowering kit on the car, and the front passenger wheel caught the inner part of the fender a little bending it. i bent it back, but the paint couldnt flex as much as i pinched it and it separated from the metal. so im thinking if the M5 fenders are wider, im gonna have to get the M5 front bumper to match. oh well ill figure it out.

do your fenders actually have the vents? that is pretty sweet. i can roll stock fenders. for nav you need the wider LCD screen, but dont mistake "dvd nav" for a "dvd player"

it has a v6. i bought the car a week ago used from a dealership that took it on a trade in. so sarcastic jerks that want to make sarcastic remarks can stay the hell out of my thread.
Hey Mississippi kid, keep it cool! A V6 in a BMW you say and I'm sarcastic?

Was it a BMW dealership?

We are here for you, the whole e60.net writers crew. You'll learn.

no my fenders are the factory 530i fenders. since my car is lowered and i have 20" wheels on it, turning to the right into an inclined driveway and other things like that, make the suspension compress enough for the tire to touch the inside of the fender. it caught the edge of the inside and bent it a little, creating a slightly bent image reflection on the outside of the fender. so now i need wider fenders if i dont want to raise the car up any! the only option is the M5 fenders im guessing since they are a bit wider than regular E60 fenders. but to use them since they are slgithly wider, they wont match up to the factory 530i front bumper. so if i want to use the M5 fenders, i think im stuck with having to buy the factory M5 front bumper as well to ensure everything lines up. or atleast thats what i am gathering from the bit of searching ive done.

as far as the DVD on nav screen goes. ive got the idrive system without the actual nav installed. so i only operate radio and climate and a few other things through that screen. its the 6.5 inch screen. ive called just about all the manufacturers of these modules to project a movie on the factory screen, and they have all said that its plug and play and should work. regardless of what system i have, it just interrupts the signal from the car and pushes whatever image im pumping into that module...IE... ipod video, auxiliary DVD player, ps2, xbox. anything.
