how do i set the memory seats?

hi, how do i set the memory (1&2) on my drivers seat?
when i press the M button it lights up red, what do i press then so it stores my settings?
i retro fitted these in, so its new to me.

Yes, exactly. Press Memory button, it lights up red, then press number and it is stored.

If you then move the seat, press the #1 button to return to that saved position. I use #1 for a comfort setting and #2 for a sportier setting.

I am not quite sure though why you have to keep the button depressed when going to a stored setting. Why didn't they just make it so you press once and the seat goes to that setting.

When key switch is not turned on/engine not running, it goes to the stored position with just one press.

In the UK;
If the engine is not running, you push the memory button once and let go, and the seat will set without having to hold it down. If the engine IS running, you have to keep the button held down. The reason for this is that so if you somehow knock the button whilst driving, it won't set in a new position and cause you to crash. If, in some areas, you have to hold the button down even when the engine isn't running, that sucks !

for me when I press the button on the remote the car will go to my setting so no need to press it.
I set it 1s when I got the car 4 years ago and have not pressed the 1,2 buttons.
