I'd love to know myself because my lens is pretty crusty like yours. I reached in there this weekend from the back to change the fog lights and didn't see a good way. I didn't have the car jacked up or the wheel off so I couldn't take a good look. I'm assuming you'd have to pop it out of the bumper while it's off unless you can reach through the back to get it off, then once you're there you could take that housing out.
Edit:
Just started searching for replacement housings.. looks like those LCI ones are full pieces. Two bolt holes to hold it on .. not sure how to access them, if they are bolted to the frame, or bolted to the bumper cover. If it's the latter I'm sure you could screw it off from the back but I have a feeling it's bolted to the frame itself.

I will wait until Saturday to try and remove it from the back.

I hope you got it out okay!
But both people are right. There are two ways
remove the wheel and unscrew your wheel arch inner skrt
or remove the headlight
both are very quick and easy
good luck

I have a pre-LCI 07, but I was only able to access the driver side fog by removing the headlamp. on the passenger side, i was not able to access the fog light with the headlamp removed.
