Isn't there a limit on the number of tracks accessible on the DVD in the nav slot?

I thought I read about one one here somewhere.

Is that on reason you might only choose to use 2/3rds of its capacity?

BTW interesting to note that dual-layer DVD is readable in the nav slot but if indeed there is a limit on the number of tracks then this may end up being purely a technical attainment.

Yep read those threads too, but only tried the DVD after cip 23.x. It displays all 65 folders and all the tracks in each folder. Only reason I am at 2/3rds is I haven't had time to convert all my dodgy music into .mp3. I wish now I had set i-tunes to import in .mp3 format. If you burn direct from i-tunes all the tracks stay in original order where as with Nero and other burning sw they go into alphabetical order unless you number each track and i really cannot be bothered to do that!!.

Cheers

Good point - there are a number of ways you can reorder tracks before an MP3 burn in iTunes. It's covered in Apple's Knowledgebase, but all it takes is a sort by artist, album or track name in the playlist before you burn the CD. You can also drag and drop individual tracks within a playlist before you burn to set the order you want.

When you burn the MP3 CD, make sure you burn it at the lowest rate possible, 1x or 2x.

In my experience this "old lore" doesn't apply with modern burners and media.

Cripes, thanks for all the replys guys this is brilliant info. I am going to give it a try now, however one thing i noticed was the mention of DVD and the Nav system. My car is a 520d M sport with the standard CD player. I didn't get Nav as i use my Garmin. Does this mean i am buggered and can't do an MP3 CD? My dealer told me the cd player reads MP3 fromat????
Thanks in advance for the help.

IIRC you need Professional Radio as a minimum for MP3 CD to work.

Pls correct me if my memory is not entirely accurate.
