How do I check the CIP version on 530i?

Also... What does CIP stands for anways?

Welcome to the forum...please update your location and vehicle information in your profile and signature!

As others will no doubt say, this has been discussed numerous times and is also in the FAQ.

The only entity that can tell you which version of the software is on your car is your dealer. There is no way to tell yourself.

CIP stands for Coding Individualization Programming, and represents the collection of software for the different computer systems on many newer BMW vehicles (E65, E60, etc.)
