Need to change the oil and sparkplugs soon. I know this has been posted awhile back but damn if I can't get a search to work for me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

- Add the last 5 digits from your VIN together, remember the sum.
- Hold the odometer reset for about 5 seconds until 01 appears
- Press the odometer reset till the display number has incremented enough to show '19' 'lock on'
- Wait till a second counter appears in the bottom of the display
- Press the odometer reset till the number resulting from the first step is displayed
- The counter will reset and you should be able to through the unlocked submenus by pressing the odometer reset

Theo gave you the instructions to hidden menu, but are you rather after the guide for resetting those maintenance things mentioned?

This is a quote from somewhere else for resetting the oil change interval, but you'll get it:

1. With the car off, turn the key to the second detent
2. Press and hold the odo reset button until the first service icon appears in the display, then release
3. If it is not the oil service icon (oil can with drips falling out), then press and release, cycling through the icons, until the oil can shows
5. Now press and hold with this icon showing until "reset?" appears, then release
6. Finally, press and hold until 15000 shows. It starts as a series of dashes, then after a few seconds, 15000 appears.
7. You're done.

Antti is right on the money as usual! SO many people have made this reset sound so difficult and yet its pretty simple.

What is contained in the hidden menus that could be of use to me(us)?

These are the functions that I mostly use;
- engine coolant temperature
- battery voltage
- the exact amount of fuel in tank

Here's more of it: http://www.scoopz.com/m5board/E60_Hi...structions.pdf

I don't think hitting that "reset" would reset anything essential.
