How come for NA cars, the turn signals for '08 are red?

At least in Sweden red turn signals are not leagal. I've seen US imported FX45:s with added orange turn signals.

Ya Mercedes does that too. I prefer the ALL Red and white tail lights but I want the turn signals to blink Amber. Its more obvious and clear to other drivers.

My Ride: 2008 BMW 535i with just about every option- Space Gray/Black/Bamboo Wood/OEM M6 Wheels
Before the 08's got to the dealership, I imagined the LED Signals were orange/yellow, but when I saw the first one come off the truck, I was let down.
On my 04 M3 Vert the LED Rear Signal are orange, and it is definately brighter when flashing then the red.
But oh well what can we do.....
