How to change oil maintance : "amount of miles"

My Ride: 05" 545i 6 speed
whats up guys,
i changed my oil recently, put in synthetic oil, at a local shop. As well as the filter...i think he started my computer on the odometer panel, so it said oil "OK" but now it went back on like 1000 miles later, i think its because i need to change the maintenance to like 12000, how do i do that or any other recommendations? thanks!
