Default Hours to replace the alternator on a 2005 545i?

Can anyone tell me how many shop hours the dealer should charge for replacing the alternator on a 2005 545i?

Thx,
Marty

It took me about 6 home hours to change mine the first time. Now that I know what to remove and how to remove it, should it happen again it should be faster. The hardest part seemed to be putting the damned thing back on and aligning the bolts correctly to tighten. Pain in the ass...and my back.

LOL, if you got a buddy you can get it done in less than 2 hours. Just did one last weekend, and if it hadn't been for one of the bushings being longer on the replacement (required grinding) it would have been less than 90 minutes.

they shop charges 3 hrs to change it. I can be done in less time if you do it yourself. I think on one of mine they were trying to charge around $700 at the dealership. Argue a little and you can get it done under "good will" warranty.
