Hot Hood Latch

After a short drive, maybe 30 minutes, I tried to open the hood and the latch was so hot my fingers were hurting for quite a while afterwards. Is this normal? I may need to get a glove to check the oil...

just joking -

doesn't happen with my toy 2.2l but that big boy four&ahalf obviously could grill a cheese sandwich or two on the way to work!

Yep, gets very hot! I have to use a towel to open....I guess I should just keep it closed!

I don't use a towel... It just hurts a little bit, not too bad.

coming in 2005 for the US market...

a 10 inch by 3 in ORANGE sticker, mandatory, non-removable and etched into the boot near the kidneys!
