Default Hot air when I really want it to be cold.

2006 e61 Automatic climate control, 183000 miles.

So, first, let me say this. Yes, I know how to adjust the vent settings in iDrive. It isn't that.

So, I'm getting hot air out of the windshield defrost and footwell vents, and cold air out of the dashboard vents when the AC is on (the cold air being what I want). I can shut down the windshield and footwell flow, to stop the heat from blasting out, but I'd really rather have AC out of all the vents.

Cycled between full hot and full cold in Climate settings and also ran the fan up to full speed and back down several times, to no avail.

Anybody have any previous repair experience? Causes? Thanks!

Try reprogramming the IHKA module. I had a issue like that and it went away after I reprogrammed.

Any hints/methods to reprogramming it, or you have a shop do it?

I have the same issue. I read that it could be the thermostat?
Any help is appreciated.

My air conditioning was recently not blowing very cold at all. Car got reprogrammed for a different issue, and suddenly it was blowing cold again.

You can do it with Winkfp or if you can spare two hours work at a dealer. Ask around first to see if anyone in your area has winkfp or try an indy shop.
