Hold tension?
Belt is on?
The tool clamps itself to the compressor pulley so it will keep the belt from falling off when you turn the crank. You may have to help the belt on by rotating the pulley with your hand as you turn the crank pulley.
Are you using the factory style belt or a equivalent sized belt? Do not use the equivalent as it will not stretch!
as for the oil leak this is most likely your cause for the belt failing. and if it is from above it is most likely from either the oil pressure switch or the vacuum pump.
and here is the factory install for the belt if you did not see the link.

The oil leak has been taken care of. It was the pressure sensor.
Well I got it on but as soon as it went on it snapped aroun to the back of the compressor pulley. So I had to cut it

On the next try guide the belt on, and go slowly. Then guide the rest of the belt on.

How are you doing?
Sorry reading this is hard sometimes, yet I understand we all have different levels of hands on experience when working on cars. Just be patient and you will get it on.

Well I finally had time to try again last night and got it on first try.
I appreciate the help I was lost on this one.
I actually am very mechanically inclined, I install residential hvac. Ironic eh?
But I have changed the water pump and thermostat myself without problem I just have never seen this since I have driven mostly Chevys
Thanks again for the help.
