am thinking of replacing the run-flat tyres for 525. any recommendations on what is a tried and proven combination for comfort ride + performance? any indication on the cost and where to go will be appreciated.
Are u looking for RF tyres or Non RF to replace ur old ones? 90% of ppl in this forum will recommend u replace it with Non RF, it will be more comfort and quieter either on the road or motorway, i have changed mine from 17" RF to 19" Non-RF and the ride is rediculously improved!!

Pls let us know your existing tyre size in order to help with the price and etc....
But my recommendation would be:
1st: Goodyear F1 (Very good price and awesome performance..especially on wet!)

Others:
Bridgestone RE 050
Michelin PS2
Dunlop Sport Maxx (I am using this tyres currently and i think they are great and slightly cheaper than 050 and of cos PS2 as well)

And i know nothing about the tyre shop in HK but am sure someone can give u some helps in here!

Any pics of ur ride btw?

Cheers
Keith

i'm feel like changing because the RF tyres are making the ride pretty uncomfortable esp on uneven ground. my car is a standard 525 and therefore, everything is factory fitted except the air filter. actually, apart from knowing it's dunlop RF, i didn't had a second look. you can imagine how it looks like really... boring standard look so no pictures so far.

i'll probably stick to 17" tyres for now unless there's some real promotions that i could take advantage of. sounds like goodyear is the way to go! thks for your recommendations. btw, why didn't you get goodyear just out of curiousity?

i think this event is by invitation only. it's at zhuhai int'l circuit and according to the letter, bmw professional driving trainer to provide you a driving training on the track. you will use their cars (presumbly those made in china versions), though it didn't mention what is available. good chance to try out the extended version of 5 series only available in china if it's available that day. cost is $1000 but will be donated to oxfam. ferry tickets included. if you are interested, you should call them up to find out more soon.

Cos they have run out of stock at that time (They even called the main distributor for more stock) and they told me 275/30/19 is hard to find, the one they got is 265/30/19....

So sadly i have to pay more than i needed....but Dunlop wasnt too bad tho.....have to say

Here is the Sport Maxx on mine:
