I find my old Canon G2 (remember that one?) takes better pics than the D70 
in Auto mode.

NICE! I use the Canon Digital Rebel XT (350D) its just had a differnt name here. I dont own it but work does and I use it all the time. And play around with it. I like it a lot. I'm considering getting the new Canon Digital Rebel XTi... (400D) for myself.
