not just u, same thought x my mind also. for similar reason, baby seats have expiry date because the plastic will become brittle over time.
Maybe it's just me, I'd never think Carbon Fiber bode well in car accident. They don't provide flexibility meaning that when they breaks, they don't bend but cracks, where sharp edges are presented. I might be wrong ... or the latest C.F. manufacturing technology has already overcome this issue.
