On some of the E60 (MY04 in HK) have these flaps right behind the grill, black flaps that closes and blocks the view of the radiator. If you have those, installing chrome grill will be harder and you need force.

I went and open the hood, sure enough there is the slits behind. I will probably have my dealer install them for me instead. Don't wanna break anything there.
