On some of the E60 (MY04 in HK) have these flaps right behind the grill, black flaps that closes and blocks the view of the radiator. If you have those, installing chrome grill will be harder and you need force.

Thanks a lot AC_S5, I went and open the hood, sure enough there is the slits behind. I will probably have my dealer install them for me instead. Don't wanna break anything there.

Or you may use Bunbun's method. Saw off the slats of one of the grilles, and you will be able to pop it out. Then you can put your hand through the broken grille and took off the other one. I guess you probably won't put back the non-chrome grille back afterwards.
