I am basing my decision on the GD3 based on internet research. the guy at the shop (who btw, talks WAY too much for my taste) wanted me to go with the Michellin (which were in stock). But I figured, tires are so bloody expensive in HK, I may as well stick with what I WANT. So I ordered the GD3. Hopefully they will be here within the next few weeks.

Yes, it still squeaks. but it's random. I cannot even pinpoint the source. It's a little frustrating. Some comes from my seat (maybe i should lose some weight! haha) and sometimes i just let the seat back go down, and bring it up again and the squeak is gone.

The latest thing to bother me is the gear shift (auto transmission). When I go uphill, the car at about 50kph, the car is stucked on 5th gear. that's right, uphill in 5th gear. Which makes the car very UNresponsive if you want to accelrate. the car will heistate quite a bit before shifting to 4th gear.

Then there is the slight delay when you first step on the gas. In short, the transmission is nowhere nearly as smooth as the one i had on my E39 540i.

I have finally finished breaking in. But because of the seriously rough ride with the Run Flats, i hardly ever step on the gas, because it feels like I am riding in a hummer. I REALLY look forward to my new tires...

Jesus, I've tooked my car to BMW to do the service (again) for the seatbelt problem (it chime sometime even there are no passenger on the passenger side), and the damaged 2 of my rims!!! Horrible service for BMW HK...

Well, and the seatbelt problem still havn't got fixed!

I am using the Goodyear FI GD1 tyres. The road holding is fantastic. I was in Hong Kong last week and did not see any E60 on the road (was mainly in Central and Tsim Sa Tsui area). Maybe I did not walk the streets long enough

hi hong kong members, i might go there beginning of feb. still not sure yet. any cheap hotels you guys can recommend? i don't need anything fancy. as long as safe, clean, and not too far from town. thanks in advance. hope i can make this trip and meet some of you guys .

What is your purpose of going there? If your business is mainly on Hong Kong Island, then you should not stay on the kowloon side. Cheap hotels abound. Just do a search on the internet to locate them. Also, it is advisable to stay near a subway station for convenience. February is a peak travellers season in Hong Kong being the Lunar New Year period.

my sis and her bf are going there for business and they asked me to go along with them. so i'm going there straightly for fun. i know it's chinese new year around that time and shops will close probably couple of days or more. that's one of the reasons why i haven't decided yet. thanks for your suggestion though .
