depends but I read some posts for the e9x, some welding work is needed (which I thought it was a v stupid design but then I have seen a few so far in my e90 so wont be surprised if indeed the case).

yeah but I bet is will cost more in the end and would not be cheap.

why you take it back to bmw is your car still under warranty?
