you didnt shift down a couple of gears?
something similar happened to me, a mb XX amg overtook me on the flyover outside aberdeen tunnel on the causeway bay side. I though why not have a bit of fun and stepped on it . the mb braked for the fast left hander, as a result, I caught up, what a chicken.

I wont play with the amg though, cos i've driven them and they are really fast on the straight line, although still no match with Mike's GTR

its all in the mind and skill mate. when mansell was driving for mclaren, he was on full throttle longer than his team mate, if memory serves hakkinen and yet slower lap time.

it lies in the knowledge of the road and when u punch the gas,
funny that, all the 1.8t boys didn't even want to look at me!?
i'm gonna test the quattro Q5 3.2 and A5 2.0 fastback next week and will report if they are worthy of battle v E60

agreed in stock form but I am not so sure if in the hand of prof tuners and drivers. macau gp is the proof.
For us, FF = understeering and will crash straight to a tree at the end

For the pros, they can balance out the throttle and the grip and turn it into art
