Hi Guys,

I was reading along and a great gang you guys are. I have question and need your advise and it did came up a few pages back. My 1 year warranty is almost up with BM HK and thet sended me some warranty plan and I can't decide if its worth to tag along with it. They said once you dropped out you can't rejoin after 2yrs. But paying over $9,000 for an free oil change for the 2nd yr and bits just don't justify for me. Warranty is like insurance which is like a bet. So I am leaning towards not to with it...cuz I am cheap...

Thanks!
au

Welcome Au!

As Simpsons says, if your car is brand new or less than a year, i would go for the warranty option for another year or two.
9000hkd for oil change does sound expensive but it will include other parts and labour for the peace of mind.
In machanical aspects, E60 is pretty much bullet prove but we had few members having some minor electronical problems (e.g faults code..etc)

So for the safe side, i would go for it!
but after the extanded warranty, find a decent garage to do the usual maintainence and forget about BMW

oil change is around 1.6- 2k. but they also check the car with the big computer thats another 1.xk at bmw. if u want peace of mind, I suggest you join. if you plan to mod something, then thats another matter.
